I have been teaching at the University of Maryland for 25 years. Before that I taught at the University of Virginia and Princeton. I'm a fellow of the American Academy in Rome, where my wife, artist Pat Sachs, and I spend part of each summer. My scholarship is mainly in the history of 20th century Italian architects. I returned to playing golf at the age of 47 after 30 years layoff. In 2006 I shot my first par round. |
